Last afternoon the remains of Assistant-Inspector-General Henry Annesley Coxwell Rogers, Commandant of the R.I.C. Depot, Phoenix Park, who met with a fatal accident last Saturday, were removed from the Depot to Knightsbridge railway terminus, whence they were conveyed for internment in the family burial ground, Cheltenham. The funeral was of a deeply impressive character and spoke eloquently of the high and widespread respect in which the deceased gentleman was held.
Amongst the many wreaths sent as tributes to the memory of the deceased gentleman was one from the Lord Lieutenant and Lady Aberdeen.

DEATH OF MRS HONORIA
STAUNTON, SNUGBORO’

The death took place on the 4th inst, at Snugboro’, Castlebar, of Mrs Honoria Staunton, a respected old lady who had reached her 87th year. She was mother of Mr James Staunton, and mother-in-law of Mr John Tierney, Snugboro’. On Tuesday her remains were removed to the Church of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, where Requiem Mass was celebrated for eternal repose on Wednesday, her internment taking place in the old Church Cemetery on Wednesday, the funeral being large and representative.

The death took place in Baltinglass Hospital on Saturday of Miss Louise Redmond, Ballybeg, Tinahely. Deceased who had reached an advanced age had only been in hospital for one week. The remains were removed to Killavaney Church on Sunday and were interred in the adjoining cemetery after 11 o'clock Requiem Mass on Monday. Fr. Curtis P.P. was celebrant and recited the prayers at the graveside. Sympathy is extended to her sister, Annemaria; her nieces, relatives and friends. R.I.P.

BRIDE UNAWARE OF FATHER'S DEATH

A young Co. Wicklow bride sat through her wedding breakfast at the Glen Mohir Inn unaware that her father died shortly after the marriage ceremony in Rathdrum Parish church. The bride, Miss Geraldine Doyle, Ballintombay, Rathdrum, who worked as a receptionist to a Dublin doctor, married Mr. William Vines of Newtownmountkennedy.

Her father, Mr. James Doyle, a farmer, did not feel well enough to attend the ceremony and he died at home shortly after the members of the family had returned from the church. The honeymoon was cancelled.

On 6 Jul 1969 Ben is involved in a road accident which resulted in the death of his companion Joseph Kelly (39). Ben and Joseph were on the N11 roadway in Kilpedder. A speeding car passed witnesses and began a speed wobble before crossing back and forth over the road and ultimately turning over several times. When the car stopped moving Joseph Kelly was lying behind the car. There is no further mention of Ben.
