• Census » Slide Show		1861 England Census - Ellen Lees Ellen is 13 and staying in Alverstoke, Hampshire with her Uncle Hon. George Hastings, her parents and brother. It is interesting as she is actually staying in "Her Majesty's Royal Naval Hospital". The site in Gosport opened as a Naval Hospital in 1754 and was the last Ministery of Defence Hospital to move to the NHS. The site is now Grade II listed historic park and is currently in redevelopment. In the 18th century the hospital, along with the main block, contained residences for senior staff, an asylum, administration blocks, a chapel and burial ground. The grounds were surrounded by high brick walls and railings designed to stop patients from going absent without leave. Brown, Paul (2016). Maritime Portsmouth.   		1891 England Census - Lees & Scovell Bigge Household Thomas (53) and Ellen (42) are living in St Alban's. The eldest boys are gone but Harry, who is 16, is still at home. They have three servants living in the house. The census also notes (not pictured) 'Lye House Stables' with two additional staff - a Coachman/Domestic Servant and one other person - it might read Farmer....however this person also lists themselves as an employer.
  		1901 England Census - Lees & Scovell-Bigge Household Thomas and Ellen are in a boarding house in 55 Margret Street, Fitzrovia in Central London.
  		1911 England Census - Lees & Scovell Bigge Household Thomas lists two postal address on the census - the house in which they are currently residing, 22 West Hill, St Leonards-on-Sea and the house they have lived in for 20+ years - Lye House, Bricket Wood, St Alban's, Hertfordshire.
